Barbless hooks,-Help!

I'm thinking of using barbless hooks but am getting mixed re-actions from friends.Some say it is difficult to keep bait on,others that lost fish will result.Any advice?

I use Drennan barbless starpoints - I do not belive I have lost a fish due to using barbless hooks, and have been using them for at least 10 years. The only exception is Drennan microbarbed starpoints...

to keep worms on a barbless use a baiting needle to thread the line through the worm for about 1 1/2 inches, leaving the threaded worm above the hook, then nick the hook into the worms collar twice...
